Zagreb is connected with the most European countries and it is fairly easy to fly to Zagreb. You will arrive to the Franjo Tuđman International Airport which is approximately 15 kilometers from Zagreb city. To get to center you can use buses or taxies.

ACCOMODATION

Zagreb is the Croatian capital and in recent years’ popular tourist destination. Therefore, there is a wide range of hotels, hostels, private accommodation etc.

Currency: Croatian currency is Kuna (HRK, or locally kn).1 EUR = 7,4 HRK; 1 EUR = 0.14 HRK. 1 kuna equals 100 lipa. You can exchange money at any of the country’s banks, bureaux de change, post offices and at almost all travel agent and hotels. Major credit cards (Visa, Master, Maestro, American Express, Diners) are widely accepted and ATMs are numerous around the city.

Fun facts: In Croatian a Kuna is an indigenous weasel-like animal (English: marten), whose pelt Croats used as payment in medieval times; The word Lipa means linden tree (Tilia).

Time Zone: Croatia is in the Central-European time zone (CET) which is GMT +1 (Greenwich mean time + 1) , using DST (daylight saving time).

Electricity & Water: The standard electricity voltage is 220 V and the frequency is 50 Hz using 2-prong Euro plugs.
